Description
Kodaikanal Hill Garlic (locally known as Kodaikanal Malai Poondu) is a premium variety of garlic grown at high altitudes (around 6,000–7,000 feet) in the Western Ghats of Tamil Nadu. It was awarded a Geographical Indication (GI) tag in 2019 due to its distinct, highly potent properties.
Because of the unique high-altitude soil, moisture, and climatic stress, this garlic develops a much higher concentration of medicinal compounds than ordinary varieties.
